So, I saved the file while it was in progress and here are the steps.  I even made a gif of it cause it was fun.

I don’t know how I could have forgotten about Wondermark, but I was reminded a little bit ago and had this comic open in a tab for a over a week now.  I’m sorry I’ve been keeping it to myself.  It’s not too late after Halloween, is it?

I like learning, yes I do.  I like learning, how bout you?

Dudes!  I just found out about this fabulous online endeavor to make University courses available for free to people all over the world.  There are 203 courses in the Course Catalog of Coursera.  They range from history and poetry to mathematical thinking and operations management.  I am nearly jumping in my seat with the possibilities and ranges of information that I can pack my brain full of.

The only draw back, and yet it’s kind of nicely cementing learning in time, is that the courses have a set begin date and structure.  So, I would need to make the time, instead of find the time.

Okay okay, in April there is an Introduction to Guitar course.  Not that I’m not really tempted by irrational behavior and physiology, philosophy and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PLANNING!!!!!  But, maybe I can have time by April. Okay.

So Excited!

I find it really relaxing, but I’m never happy with how it stores – as in, smudging as soon as I close my sketchbook and also disliking fixative.  I think this may be my first time posting a work in progress.

And, by work in progress, I mean I have plans for this drawing.  I will post it when it is done too.

What could be better than Esperanto and Klingon?

Volapük!  That’s what!  I never knew this, probably because I never pursued this, but invented languages have been happening throughout time.  I love the article:  Trüth, Beaüty, and Volapük at The Public Domain Review.  Who knew a language could be undone by umlaut?!

Sanford Expresso Porous Black Extra Fine Pens (Pack of 12)I’ve never lived in a place where getting art supplies from an actual art store was ever easy.  Or maybe I’ve just always been cheap.  You see, most of the ink pens that I use for my ink drawings are just regular office supply.  I’ve learned a lot about these pens – which ones bleed with water and what color of black they are, which ones last the longest, etc.

I was reminiscing about the kind of pens I most liked to find when I reminded myself that the sanford Expresso is no more.  These were awesome pens, sold by the box to offices everywhere.  They came in multiple colors, multiple tip sizes, lasted a good amount of time, and didn’t fray at the tip like other felt tip pens (erm, like expensive ones from the art store).

I mourn you sanford Expresso, and the last little supply I could get my hands on can never replace your presence in my office supply store.

http://files.content.lettersandlight.org/nano-2012-beta/files/2012/09/Generic-180x180.jpgI love National Novel Writing Month, so much so that I have signed up for the challenge when I knew there would be no time, like that one year when we moved apartments in November.  I wrote 23 thousand words that year before the file got corrupted.

I hate to say it, but I won’t be signing up this year.  I will be devoting November to writing, mostly finishing in progress stories and editing first drafts, but I will not be crafting a new novel from scratch starting tomorrow.  I already miss the instant camaraderie of disembodied writers in motion.  So, I’m going to have to live through you this year.  Sign up to write a novel, send me the link to your NaNoWriMo profile and give me weekly updates.  I need this from you.  I need you.
