{"id":3618,"date":"2013-05-02T10:58:36","date_gmt":"2013-05-02T14:58:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theleemsmachine.com\/bean\/?p=3618"},"modified":"2013-05-02T15:01:46","modified_gmt":"2013-05-02T19:01:46","slug":"library-archives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleemsmachine.com\/bean\/blog\/2013\/05\/02\/library-archives\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Archives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that Libraries have collections of truly interesting and rare materials?\u00a0 That these libraries often digitize and create online collections accessible to anyone?\u00a0 That because of library websites\/catalogs and their interaction with search engines most of this material is impossible to simply stumble upon?\u00a0 Allow me to help you trip, with a selection of awesome digitized archives.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fantastic.library.cornell.edu\/index.php\">Cornell University Library Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections&#8217;:\u00a0 The Fantastic in Art and Fiction&#8211;<\/a>images and book illustrations of Death, Magic, and the fantastical.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mediahistoryproject.org\/\">The Media History Project<\/a> &#8211; non profit dedicated to digitizing public domain news and media on media industries.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/digitalgallery.nypl.org\/nypldigital\/explore\/dgexplore.cfm?topic=history&amp;col_id=161\">Cigarette Cards at NYPL Digital Gallery<\/a> &#8211; most definitely not the only thing the NYPL Digital Gallery &#8216;s got going for it, but a fabulous collection just the same.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/chroniclingamerica.loc.gov\/\">Chronicling America at the Library of Congress<\/a> &#8211; American newspapers from 1836 to 1922, digitized and text searchable.\u00a0 Do you understand how fabulous this is?
