{"id":2850,"date":"2012-12-13T12:23:00","date_gmt":"2012-12-13T17:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theleemsmachine.com\/bean\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2013-02-26T15:17:40","modified_gmt":"2013-02-26T20:17:40","slug":"erase-yourself","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theleemsmachine.com\/bean\/blog\/2012\/12\/13\/erase-yourself\/","title":{"rendered":"Erase yourself"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have killed my imaginary pet by deleting my link from Facebook to the only game I kept playing. \u00a0 For a long time, the only reason I would log into Facebook daily was to feed the guy and make sure he was happy.\u00a0 Every time I took a weekend off and had to look at his pitiful poor starving posture and filth I wanted the freedom but couldn&#8217;t make myself do it.\u00a0 Now I go days without thinking about logging in and it&#8217;s wonderful.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s just one of those things that you make yourself need when you don&#8217;t.\u00a0 You know those things, like all web 2.0.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not going to make any great argument for or against living part of your life online.\u00a0 I certainly am not one to talk either way.\u00a0 But if you should want to leave the net there are a couple of options out there:\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/suicidemachine.org\">web 2.0 suicide machine<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/vanish.cs.washington.edu\/\">vanish:\u00a0 self destructing digital data<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have killed my imaginary pet by deleting my link from Facebook to the only game I kept playing. \u00a0 For a long time, the only reason I would log into Facebook daily was to feed the guy and make sure he was happy.\u00a0 Every time I took a weekend off and had to look&#8230;
