I said I would probably talk some more about White Trash Cooking<\/a><\/em> by Ernest Matthew Mickler<\/a> and now I’m gonna.\u00a0 Here is the LEETTA I was talking about before.\u00a0 Some time ago I was contacted by another LeEtta who was researching the origins of the name.\u00a0 You know, there aren’t many of us, but there are enough to wonder where the name came from (I was named after my Great Grandmother, whom I never knew).<\/p>\n

Anyway, White Trash Cooking<\/em> by Ernest Matthew Mickler<\/a> has more to recommend itself than just another LEETTA.\u00a0 And if you know anything about the populating of the Appalachias then you’ll recognize the blend of truly southern and something Scottish in the recipes.\u00a0 A few that I want to try right off:\u00a0 Peggy’s Pig Eggs, Butts’ Gator Tail (though I have no idea where I’d get my hands on one), and Dirty Rice.<\/p>\n

White Trash Cooking<\/em><\/a> was republished for a 25 year anniversary printing, which is good because the out of print copy seems to have been in demand.\u00a0 Amazon’s got a healthy preview available for you to peruse – that’s what the links are for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
